Acknowledging the land on which A Raven’s Touch is offered.
A LIVING CONNECTION
As a Sayisi Dene woman, I carry a deep connection to land, ancestry and the generations who came before me.
I respectfully acknowledge that I live and offer my work in Black Creek on the Unceded Traditional Territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
I am grateful for the opportunity to live and work among these lands and waters, and I honour the enduring relationship of the K’ómoks people with their territory.
I offer this acknowledgement with respect, gratitude and humility, while continuing to listen, learn and care for the land and community in which I live and work.
For me, acknowledging the land is more than a statement. It is an ongoing commitment to listen, learn, care for the land and honour the peoples whose relationship with this territory reaches back through generations.
